In what Alice Leens calls 'Threads in the surface', she isolates and lifts a thread in the surface of a weave. She twists it, turning it on itself. Twisting the thread reduces its length. It is this shortened length that, when the artist re-twists the thread in its original position, puts the entire weave under tension.

By offering HIM good working conditions and a privileged support, the foundation relieves the artist and allows him/her to be fulfilled in his/her vocation
