Natacha Mercier and Laurent Dumortier have joined forces for this 'Plein Soleil' exhibition around a strong narrative framework: the night. With this nocturnal setting and a recurring use of black nuance, the artists question the notion of the 'visible' and what disorder offers beyond visual analysis. Natacha Mercier and Laurent show us tangible places (landscapes, interiors) borrowed from nocturnal realities or lived moments, whose images remain in a tension between observations and visions. Natacha works with numerous photographic sources to return to the places she has encountered, maintaining the tension between the instantaneity of the photograph and the slowness of pictorial gestures. During her nocturnal strolls, Laurent returns to interiors by taking notes and sketching.
