Romane Iskaria
Romane Iskaria (La Ciotat, 1997) vit et travaille à Bruxelles. Elle est titulaire d'un DNA (Diplôme National d'Arts Plastiques) des Beaux-Arts de Marseille (INSEAMM) et d'un Master de photographie de l'ENSAV La Cambre à Bruxelles.
Romane a une approche de la photographie à la fois documentaire et conceptuelle. Elle travaille sur des enquêtes photographiques au long court, afin de mettre en lumière les voix de personnes oubliées et de raconter leurs histoires. Son travail artistique est principalement basé sur la quête des origines liée à un territoire disparu. Romane collecte les souvenirs et évoque les imaginaires par le biais de la photographie, de la vidéo, du texte et du son pour créer des installations de mémoire collective. Récemment, le travail de Romane a pris l'aspect d'installations vidéos et sculpturales poussant sa réflexion autour d’un voyage initiatique évoquant la mémoire de la diaspora.
Romane Iskaria (La Ciotat, 1997) lives and works in Brussels. She holds a DNA (Diplôme National d'Arts Plastiques) from the Beaux-Arts de Marseille (INSEAMM) and a Master's degree in photography from ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels.
Romane's approach to photography is both documentary and conceptual. She works on long term photographic investigations, in order to bring to light the voices of forgotten people and to tell their stories. Her artistic work is mainly based on the quest for origins linked to a disappeared territory. Romane collects memories and evokes imaginaries through photography, video, text and sound to create installations of collective memory. Recently, Romane's work has taken on the form of video and sculptural installations that reflect on an initiatory journey evoking the memory of the diaspora.

Romane's benadering van de fotografie is zowel documentair als conceptueel. Ze werkt aan fotografische onderzoeken, om de stemmen van vergeten mensen aan het licht te brengen en hun verhalen te vertellen. Haar artistieke werk is voornamelijk gebaseerd op de zoektocht naar de oorsprong van een verdwenen grondgebied. Romane verzamelt herinneringen en roept verbeelding op door middel van fotografie, video, tekst en geluid om installaties van collectief geheugen te creëren. Recentelijk heeft het werk van Romane het aspect aangenomen van video en sculpturale installaties, haar reflectie duwend naar een initiatiereis die de herinnering aan de diaspora oproept.
